Pixelworx Studio

Gave a video studio a site as cinematic as its work.

Pixelworx Studio website

Story Case study

Overview

Pixelworx is a London video-first creative studio making social-first content for sport, brands and podcasts. This video production studio website was built in partnership with Studio Duo: I led development and motion, bringing a dark, cinematic design to life in Framer so the studio's reel finally had a home that matched it. The brief was simple to say and hard to do: let the work lead, and make it load fast.

The challenge

Pixelworx's reel was world-class, but their website felt like a template. It didn't carry the confidence of the studio's client work, and heavy video was slowing every page down. For a studio that sells on visual quality, a sluggish, generic site was costing them credibility before a prospect ever pressed play. They also needed a way to add new projects quickly as fresh work shipped.

What I built

  • A dark, cinematic layout where the footage leads and the interface steps back
  • Lazy-loaded video so pages stay quick even with a heavy showreel
  • Scroll-driven reveals that pace the story like an edit, not a slideshow
  • A project CMS that makes adding a new case study a two-minute job
  • Clear routes from the work into "Work with us", so visitors become briefs
  • Responsive behaviour tuned so the video-heavy layout holds up on phones

Design & build

Studio Duo set the visual direction; my job was to make it move and perform. I built the site in Framer from Figma files, treating motion as part of the brand rather than decoration: reveals timed to the scroll, hover states that feel tactile, and transitions that never get in the way of the footage. Performance was a design decision from day one, with video loaded only when needed and media sized for each breakpoint. The result is a multipage website the studio can grow without touching code.

What it delivers

Pixelworx now has a portfolio that matches the quality of its work and does the selling the reel deserves. Prospects see the footage first, the site stays quick despite heavy video, and the route from a case study to "Work with us" is always clear. With a CMS behind every project, the studio can publish new work as soon as it ships, keeping the site as current as its client list.

Comment card · Rated excellent

“Eric's development was top-notch. He translated complex animations and video design into a stable, responsive site. Working with him made the build feel seamless.”
