MedAxis Group
One chart for every specialty, from first visit to follow-up

Story Case study
Overview
MedAxis Group is a multi-specialty medical group with four clinics in Texas: primary care, dental, dermatology, mental health, women's health, pediatrics, labs and physical therapy. The website is built around one idea: every specialty sits on the same chart, so patients never repeat their story and referrals take days instead of weeks.
This project is in production. The site, care finder and patient portal are built and in review before launch.
The challenge
Most medical group websites read like a directory: a long list of departments, a phone number and a PDF of insurance plans. Patients arrive with a symptom, not a specialty, and they want to know three things fast: who should I see, do you take my insurance, and when can I be seen. Referrals between specialists are where care usually slows down, and that delay is rarely explained.
What I built
- A home page that shows all eight specialties on one axis, with a live line tracing how a visit moves through the group
- A care finder that turns a few plain-language answers into the right specialty and a bookable slot
- A side-by-side referral timeline: a typical 23-day referral against a two-day internal one
- Service pages for each specialty with prices, what to expect, accepted insurers and HSA and FSA notes
- A medical equipment catalog with a saved list, ready for ordering to switch on later
- A patient portal with appointments, a health tracker, lab results, medications, messages and billing
- Membership plans, clinic locations, clinician profiles and patient stories
Approach
The brand came first: a four-capsule mark around a centre point, a palette taken from the logo and the Onest typeface. Every page shares one layout system, so specialty, membership and equipment pages feel like one product rather than separate microsites. Copy is written for a US audience, with US spelling, USD prices, 911 and 988 crisis lines and US lab units.
Outcome
The build covers 17 pages and a working portal demo. It is in final review, with booking and ordering to be connected to the group's systems at launch.
