Hills Concept
A planner's site with a free tool that maps your wedding month by month.

Story Case study
Overview
Hills Concept is a Lagos event planning and coordination company led by Hilda, planning weddings, traditional ceremonies, proposals, pre-wedding shoots and celebrations for couples at home and abroad. I designed and built a wedding planner website in Lagos that shows the work in full and helps couples start planning before they've even made contact.
The challenge
Research into Nigerian planner websites showed a pattern: most are weak or Instagram-only, with no FAQ, no explanation of process, no press, no per-event case studies, no path for couples abroad and no planning tools. Hills Concept had the work and seven BellaNaija Weddings features to back it up, but needed a site that filled those gaps and gave couples a reason to enquire.
What I built
- A free planning tool at /plan: choose the events (introduction, traditional, court, white wedding, after-party), guest count, month and location, including outside Nigeria, and get a month-by-month timeline that pre-fills the enquiry. A homepage teaser feeds straight into it.
- Ten event pages with the story, palette and full vendor team for each celebration, with BellaNaija features labelled.
- A "How we plan" walkthrough of one wedding, step by step, with the brief and colour palette shown as swatches.
- A planning-from-abroad section for couples in London, Houston or Toronto, explaining how the team acts on the ground in Lagos.
- Filmed video reviews from couples and families.
- A question-index FAQ answering what couples ask first.
- An enquiry flow that routes to Instagram DM, ready to switch to a phone number from the CMS settings.
Design & build
The palette is plum, deep night and a pale lilac canvas, with Plus Jakarta Sans for clarity and a Mrs Saint Delafield script for the wordmark and signature moments. The site is built with Astro and Keystatic, so events, FAQs and contact settings can be edited without code. Pages include a home, work index, event pages, services with two ways to work together, about and the planning tool.
What it delivers
Couples see proof, process and press in one place, and the planning tool gives them something useful before they commit, which means enquiries arrive with dates, guest numbers and event types already worked out. See how I approach multi-page websites.
