EMGS GlobalConnect

One clear journey from the first search to landing abroad

EMGS GlobalConnect website

Story Case study

Overview

EMGS GlobalConnect helps people, many of them nurses and healthcare workers, find jobs, study routes and scholarships abroad, prepare with courses and get expert help applying. This study and work abroad platform redesign is an elevated rebuild of the existing EMGS site: the same content and assets, reorganised into one clear journey across 11 pages.

The challenge

The original already had the substance: live opportunities, services, courses and articles. What it needed was flow. A first-time visitor should be able to search, see whether they qualify, close the gaps and apply without hunting through menus. The brief was to keep every asset as it was and lift the structure, hierarchy and motion around it, with no invented stats or testimonials.

What I built

  • A hero search across jobs, study routes and scholarships, filtered by destination and keyword
  • An opportunities directory with detail pages and a saved list kept on the visitor's device
  • A four-question eligibility check that matches you against every live opportunity and shows what to prepare
  • Destination guides with regulator notes for the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Ireland
  • Courses, services and an apply flow that starts from the opportunity or service you came from
  • A scroll-filled "how it works" timeline, from first search to relocation
  • A blog and a help and FAQ page

Design & build

Manrope on a soft grey canvas, with rounded inset panels and deep navy for the dark sections; EMGS's own crimson and blue stay as the brand colours. Layout ideas came from agency-style references, mapped onto real content: overlapping step cards under the hero, numbered section labels, an expanding image gallery for opportunities and readiness bars in the eligibility check.

Technically it's static HTML with page-level JavaScript and a shared data file holding all the real content from the live site. Motion uses GSAP (ScrollTrigger and Flip) with Lenis, tuned for smoothness: transforms and opacity only, no layout-heavy tweens, and a fallback that keeps everything readable if the scripts don't load. Log-in and dashboard links hand off to the existing EMGS app.

What it delivers

The redesign turns a set of listings into a guided path, so visitors know where they stand and what to do next. The eligibility check sets expectations before an application starts, which means better-prepared applicants reaching the EMGS team. More on this kind of build as multi-page websites.
