Eventsbydidi
An event planner site that shows every detail Didi handles for you.

Story Case study
Overview
Eventsbydidi is a Lagos planning and coordination studio, "Planner Extraordinaire", running weddings, milestone birthdays, royal celebrations, kids' parties, remembrance services and corporate events. I designed and built an event planner website in Lagos that turns a busy Instagram feed into a clear case for hiring Didi, with a planning tool that starts the conversation on WhatsApp.
The challenge
Event planning is invisible when it's done well, which makes it hard to sell. The brand had years of proof on Instagram, but no single place that explained what a planner actually handles, how the three levels of service differ, or how to start. Enquiries happen on WhatsApp through a link that can't pre-fill text, so the site needed to prepare a useful brief before the chat opens.
What I built
- A crystal-strand canvas hero with the line "Show up. Enjoy it. Didi did it."
- The #didididit list: an auto-ticking checklist of the small Lagos-specific decisions handled before, during and after an event, from gele artists booked for 6am to traffic buffers for Third Mainland Bridge.
- A run-of-show timeline that pairs what the couple does with what the team is doing behind it, hour by hour.
- WhatsApp-thread reviews: real messages from the brand's Instagram reviews highlight, shown as chat bubbles instead of polished testimonials.
- Three service tiers (full planning, partial planning, coordination) with who each is best for.
- A /plan tool: three answers become a timeline, a budget guide and a brief that's copied to the clipboard before WhatsApp opens.
- Ten event pages with photos, film and full vendor credits, plus a services page with the vendor circle.
Design & build
The palette is champagne, coral and gold, with Bricolage Grotesque for headlines, the Allison script for signature touches and Figtree for body copy. It is built with Astro and Keystatic, so events and content can be updated without code, with GSAP driving the motion. Reel stills were cropped and cleaned so every image sits neatly in the layout.
What it delivers
Visitors see the work, understand exactly what Didi takes off their plate and arrive on WhatsApp with their date, guest count and event type already written out, which makes the first conversation faster for both sides. See how I build multi-page websites.
